It's my 2-month milestone today - since each month of the posting cycle has begun with an abstract, I decided to continue this impromptu tradition. Sometimes these Quantaray close-up filters, when combined with the right aperture, can create the most subtle and enjoyable softening of the subject. We're seeing that effect manifest here in this quick shot of a spherical candle - no Photoshop trickery here:-) The wick on this candle was buried and rendered useless months ago and a tea light doesn't cut it in terms of overall exposure brilliance, so the candle's innards were illuminated by my trusty little white LED flashlight. When I saw this image, my first reaction was to interpret it as a view into that half awake, half asleep state that we've all experienced at one time or another.
