Photo Info
Well, better late than never - apologies for the late-ish post today! I'm laid up at home for a few days and haven't been able to shoot anything new, so it's back to the archives one again. Today's post was shot on our climb of Mount Washington in New Hampshire this past July - we hiked up on the western flanks and after about two miles the trail becomes quite steep and rocky; there's a worthwhile side trail that provides a welcome bit of traverse, leading to views of this incredible plummeting gorge. The frame here is as-shot and covers approximately 60 feet of drop - not including the distance our jaws fell before hitting bottom:-)
The shot as posted was tweaked in Photoshop using an additional gaussian layer set to darken mode, since I enjoyed the resulting effect so much on yesterday's alternate posting (#2) - for the original shot, check here.
