Found at Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary, Marshfield MA
The clouds rapidly forming overhead became a weather system that dropped about four inches of fresh snow overnight last Saturday before turning to rain - nearly all of the fresh snow had vanished by Sunday evening and hopefully, Old Man Winter has had his last hurrah for this year.
The geese browsing in the foreground were in the classic 'single sentry' formation in which one member of a group is always watching for trouble while the others feed or nap. More likely than not, the sentry was probably looking at us with our cameras - fortunately, images were the only things we were interested in capturing.
