There were many ceremonial tribal masks and costumes on display from the extensive collection of art from Oceania - this section of the de Young was sprawling and seemingly endless in its meanderings from island to island. These galleries were also among those that were quite dramatic in their lighting, giving the visitor a sense of floating through historical space. Museum placard information is below.
