As I was walking, I was pondering the season and the bigger picture of the cycle of change, death, rebirth, and all that other meaningful hoo-ha:-) After looking through the photos I'd taken on this journey, it struck me that I should desaturate only the fence poles in this image - in the orginal shot, they had been stained brown, but these were green and alive once like their current surroundings, until they were harvested and transformed into an inanimate boundary.
