I decided that it was time to do a hand study, so I set up the ol' tripod at the dining room table and had at it. At first, the mug of coffee was used as a positional reference - I could focus on the mug, start the timer, then move the mug out of frame leaving a warm spot on the table so I knew where to place my mitts. Ultimately, my lovely wife was enlisted as shutter-tripper so I could use the mug as a prop.

So here's one of my favorite mug and me - I may post one or two more of the choice shots during the week if the mood strikes.
