Certain objects gain an almost talismanic status in our lives and this is one of mine - many a chocolate milk was served up in this mug during my formative years and a special treat was always a drink we called a 'horse's neck' - a simple but tricky beverage consisting of ginger ale poured over coffee ice cream. One of my strongest childhood memories is that of my trip to see 'Star Wars' in the summer of '77 - I had just finished lunch, complete with a mugfull of chocolate milk when my older brother launched into the kitchen, proclaiming our upcoming trek to the movies. Finally, I would witness the spectacle that so many of my friends had already soaked up like sci-fi sponges. It's such a powerful memory that I refer to this prized bit of glassware as 'The Star Wars Mug' - powerful stuff, memories...
