Found at the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco CA

While looking up in awe at the Palace Rotunda, I spied this view - it seemed to me that the statuary was spying right back. Surrounding the base of the Rotunda dome are eight such figures, each perched between small, square fluted columns - they seem to be surveying the grounds below, as if guarding this landmark.
